In the 1940s, the broadcasting of television begins in the US, electromagnetic signals were sent by the broadcasters which had exclusive television channels in it. Tall towers were built to send air signals to send video and audio signals to nearby locations. Antennas were attached to the televisions and placed on the rooftop by the viewers to get the signals. The one issue in this TV transmission system was that when the signals go beyond the tower it became weaker. Television broadcasters tried to spread their networks in the town locations where more people can easily get their signals. Because of this, the people of rural areas had no access to television broadcasting or else bad signals of television.

The FCC steps in, the technology of time television also started in the 1940s which almost gave them power over the viewers of American television but as soon as Cable TV’s demand grew the central TV network broadcasters were shocked. From the start of cable TV, these broadcasting channels were worried because of its impact. According to them, systems of cable television robbed their network programs by interrupting the signals and now take fees from customers to send it to them. Complaints from the network grew excessively because of the use of new different technological cable systems which brings signals from far away areas. Cable services nature changed because of the development, from providing the viewers with the better signals of local TV to giving those options in new programs from faraway places.

In the mid of 1970, FCC was pressurized by the public to limit the expansion of cable television and to change the rules. All this pressure was coming from the customers of cable who now wanted the developed interesting services and channels. In 1972, FCC began to lose the limitations of cable television, after the introduction to a new “Cable Television Report and Order” through which operators of the cable can get the TV signals from far away. However, the organization carries on to limit the systems of cable from giving services to the top markets of TV.

New cable networks emerge

In 1975, almost ten million people were provided through 3500 systems of cable, and in ten years cable systems served almost 40 lac customers and the system converted to 6600 in number. The progress in the customers of cable television motivated numerous self-sufficient businessmen who can start the latest networks of cable. Therefore, the growth of cable networks from 1980 to 1990 jumped from 28 to 79. The recent networks not anymore just show programs which were shown on broadcast networks, rather now they broadcast distinctive channels which are at times for targeted audiences too. Quite a few cable systems that came into view in this phase had an impact on the progress of TV in particular and American people and ethnicity generally.
